So a few weeks ago I introduced the concept for a visual experience game for my music that I'm working on with a team of game designers and animators - It's time to show you where it's at!

This is a few gifs showing off the colour correction and it's heavily-saturated effect on the visuals as day turns to night - I'm absolutely loving the colour palette! The car lights at night also look fantastic. Not all of the objects and terrain elements are in these gifs as they're currently being implemented alongside all of the animation assets.

The road itself and the way it bends, direction and what appears on screen etc. is a part of the terrain generation system which is being worked on, here's a top down view of how it works:

The final won't be overlapping of course, and will be rendered in chunks (the blue square/ocean) as you cruise along the coast road.

Next up is the car! Our animators on the team drew inspiration from several references to create the model and I'm super happy with how it turned out.

We're also going through different font-styles to see what works best with the visuals and the rest of the UI, and at the same time fits with the overall art style and genre of my music.

So that's where it's all at currently! Next steps for the project: the designers are mid-way through testing assets sent by the animators, I'll be testing a demo of the game in the next few days where hopefully I'll be able to check out how the Shuffle mode works and update you guys on that also.

Very exciting stuff! More details soon.

Lachy :)
