Hey guys!

Today I just wanted to do another update on what I'll be working on for the next month or so, and how my current projects are progressing!

Live

So first up is my Live performance which is this Saturday! (April 8th). For more details click here to check out the event I created for it on my Facebook page. The legends at triple j Unearthed also featured the gig!

A couple weeks ago I designed and sent off my first stage plot for the set. Pretty minimal, but you gotta start somewhere! I think it's actually a really clean and understandable template to work from so it's definitely going to be in use and from now into the future.

Overall, I'm super excited and comfortable with where it's at currently. The whole 40 minute set is me playing my old & new tracks, taking out the main melody elements so I can play them live on the keys and/or adding new elements on the fly! My whole plan with this set was to get myself back into the rhythm of preparing for and performing live (as this will be my second ever live set), invest in new equipment and work towards designing a new set from scratch full of brand new music. My next addition to the stage plot above will be an Alesis Samplepad pro so I can properly perform drum/percussive samples and create more stage presence.

After the set, I'll have a full recording of it so I can upload it as a mixtape-style track plus some video footage & stills from different angles so collate some promo material which I'll be able to send to industry people for future gigs or opportunities. Will update you guys after this weekend!

Another Games project!

So I'm working with some of the main guys from the 'Horizon' game, this time I'll be recording and processing a bunch of foley, and using FMOD for the first time to integrate sounds into a 3D interactive environment! The main thing I'm excited to dive into is designing all these different and intricate parameters which trigger these sounds in certain ways to create an immersive experience. It's really really special when audio is done well in a game, so I'm keen as to give it a good go!

I don't want to reveal too many details on it until next week after a lot of the recording is done and it's starting to piece together so I'll be posting an individual update blog then!

Upcoming Singles

As for more music under Jbox, I've got a lot of instrumental demos at different stages - but there's a few that I'm super excited about and have a lot of potential. I've met a bunch of amazing and extremely talented artists since moving down to Brisbane last year, and excited to say I'll be doing a lot more collaboration throughout 2017! Along with doing more live stuff, I believe this is a really important step for me and I hope to continue working with others in order to push myself out of my production comfort zone. 😄

More updates and content on the way!!

Lachy :)
