Happy Friday!
Momentum across the number of projects I'm working on is starting to really build up now, I've got lots to update you on!
Annie J & Fusion EP recording
Firstly, Stefan and I's band recording project is almost at the recording stages! Next week we will be finalising our pre-production plans for the sessions, as the first big one will be on that weekend.
According to our current project plan, we need to have finished recording by the end of next week - so we may have to start utilising that buffer time we've given ourselves for mixing as some supplementary recording time over the next couple weeks. The main concern is that we've had a little bit of issues so far in terms of band members availabilities and last minute cancellations, so to compensate we need to be prepared to smash those upcoming sessions.
I'll be doing plenty of interesting breakdowns of each session, so keep an eye out for those!
'Sol Ensis' Game Audio
This week for Sol Ensis' sound design after many weeks of important planning, documentation, pitching and creating concepts - we have a clear direction, an asset lists to work with and it's pretty much full steam ahead.
Here's a preview of some of my latest additions!
When you block an attack with a shield or sword:
One of the many weapon swing sounds, you can some weird subtle resonances in it. That's my concept of what your sword swing may sound like when it's filled with 'sols':
I've got some menu sound effects as well!
And the sound of what you may hear when you restore your weapon with a 'shard':
Jbox Originals

I'm super super excited about what's currently going on with Jbox. If you've been following my Instagram (and Snapchat) lately, you would have seen a story of a preview for one of my new tracks. This one is called 'FAITH', and it's another revival of an old project I left to sit for over a year. One of the demos of this song started playing on my iTunes after I was listening to some music, and I fell back in love with the vibe and feeling I was going for with this song.
It made me remember how comfortable I felt with just writing what I was feeling, and rather than forcing myself in a direction, really just having fun with making music! It's a pretty timely reminder for me, that I need to trust my instincts and be happy with my own music before trying to please someone else. In a way, that's what this song is about too - backing yourself!
As the cover art above might indicate, it's a pretty different style for the project - but all the same, it's a very special song to me. Stay tuned across my socials for this one very soon!
But wait! That's not the only music I'm writing for Jbox currently. I've recently started co-writing with a songwriter and vocalist on a very vibey, summer-infused track. This one is much more closer in style to that of my older works: I Can and Horizon. Collaborating is something I've been wanting to do A LOT more, and finally taking up this challenge is very exciting. It may be a little bit longer of a wait for this one, but I'll keep you posted!

The final update I've got for you is a sound replacement I've recently done for a sportswear TV advert!
Next week I'll be posting a full analysis on all of the sound design techniques I've employed for this one, but for now - check out the video below!
That's me for this week! More updates on the way soon including the sound replacement blog next week. + If you're going to Splendour, PM my Facebook page and let's catch up!
